If you are in Singapore and wish to be there to apply for Vietnam visa, you should notice that the consular section of the embassy does not work all weekdays, but only in certain time. Following is the working time of the consular section of the embassy of Vietnam in Singapore cited on its website:
“With effect from April 1st (2008), the Consular section will receive and return files, documents and papers relating to legalization, endorsement, passport renewal, passport amendment, issuance of children photo on the passport, issuance of travel document and visa-exemption paper, citizenship renouncement, marriage, birth, citizenship regisstration only on Monday, Wednesday from 3pm to 5pm and on Friday from 3pm to 4.30pm.”
This working hours may cause troubles for those who wish to obtain a visa via the embassy.
However, please note that embassy is the only channel offering Vietnam visa for Singaporeans and others. They now can have another way to obtain the visa, which is known as visa on arrival. With this, one does not need to contact the embassy at all to get the visa. They only need to submit an online application form for the letter of approval through a travel agency in Vietnam to check in at the departure airport and pick up the actual visa stamp at an international airport in Vietnam upon arrival.
For information about this kind of visa can be found at Vietnam-visa.
